October 2009
Who feels they are missing opportunities in the big wide world by having to work in an office everyday? Who lacks inspiration looking at the same four walls? Who would like to be able to take their business out to their customer without feeling like you’ve abandoned the ship The answer is everyone. |
In the last year over 20 000 businesses in the Sussex/ Surrey area have moved out of expensive offices with their inflated overheads and are taking to the road using a Virtual Desktop and Phone System. The result is dynamic, money saving and efficient and your customer knows you will always be in…even when you’re out!
If you could work anytime and from anywhere, where would you go?
We thought as much. Which is why the first Arcom IT seminar is going to take place at the footie!
Arcom IT are hosting their very first breakfast seminar with partners Citrix on Virtual Desktop at Woking Football Club on Tuesday 24th November.

With an estimated annual turn over by April 2010 of £5.4 million the financial and operational management of the business is a serious undertaking and a challenge which has been met equally by Arcom IT as Lead Consultant for Visma Business.

ON YER BIKE!
This month Arcom IT was invited by Gill Edinburgh, Director of Sussex Enterprise, to attend this years ‘The Really Useful Business Show’ at the Brighton Centre.
Over 1200 businesses were represented at the conference and many of Arcom IT’s own customers were present including Carpenter Box Chartered Accountants from Worthing.
The highlight of the day was the arrival of former Government Minister Lord Digby Jones as the keynote speaker. Lord Digby gave a very rousing speech to the delegates exclaiming “I congratulate you all because without business in this nation, this nation isn’t going to trade its way out of anything.”
A great sport – as you can see from this photograph!

WORK ANYWHERE: A VIRTUAL REALITY.
We’ve all seen the pictures: smug individuals lying on beaches next to their laptops and grinning execs checking their emails in the garden. It just doesn’t ring true when most people battle for hours in commuter hell everyday only to spend the majority of their working day in the box they know as their office.
What makes our offices even more cumbersome is the enormous costs, rental plus rates, all come from your bottom line.
However, the need to have a physical, consistent presence is enormous and room for storage/equipment is unavoidable but how can save as much space as possible and, more importantly, how can we save as much money as possible?
For years now we have been able to access our emails on the move from our mobile phones so we know we can at least keep in contact with our office and our clients via phone and email. But these are the basics, not the business. Many people need access to specific software packages, shared files and folders to be able to really get on with their work and that’s just not been possible. Until now.
Arcom IT are holding their first quarterly seminar on Virtual Desktop, a solution that enables end users to access their own personal desktop from any pc, anywhere in the world with broadband connection. Simple to use and simple to support, Gartner has predicted that 40% of all business desktops will be delivered by this hosted model by 2013.
“Companies will turn to the internet to deliver core computing services, thereby cutting out the cost, man-hours and productivity being sacrificed to the management of employee desktops.” – vnunet.com
And it doesn’t just make your bank manager happy; it makes your workforce happy too. In a recent DTI Work Life Balance Survey, 75% of companies introducing these work practices said they had a more committed and motivated staff. This means reduced absences, reduced staff turnover and a greater social responsibility.
To find out how Virtual Desktop can work for your business why not join us on Tuesday 24th November at Woking FC over breakfast.
To book your place and save your bacon sandwich go to seminars It will be a great opportunity to network, literally as well as virtually!
We hope to see you there.
